Hi All, I am not sure my little guy has this yet. But recently when he wakes up he lifts his left back leg for a bit and then its like it never happened and he is walking normally again. Does anyone elses Pug do this?
The only person who can diagnose a Luxating Patella is a vet & it should really be done after X rays or at least a physical examination.
if you suspect please get it checked out. we are looking after a rescue who has permanently dislocated knee caps. the shape of his bones in his back legs have bent and when we looked into having him operated on the vet told us it would be useless as his leg bones have changed shape to accommodate his awful knee caps, we were also told he was now in very little pain from it and he can go on short walks. our other two who are the same breed have perfect knee caps and can do as many hours exercise as you can. if he had been operated on years ago he would be in much better shape but the previous owners left him to it. however he is a very happy chappy who dances when you walk into the room!!
