    DNA testing

    Are there any DNA test kits that anyone would recommend, I've heard of embark are there any other DNA tests?Thanks

    Wisdom 2 & 3 are available.
    I won a Wisdom 2 in an online competition. It reported on his breed purity, and the geographical origin of his breeding, but I really didn't get any advice about inherited traits or conditions - except the tendency for Beagles to gain weight. (Beagles currently have six DNA tests available for inherited conditions).
    Are you just looking for breed purity, or for inherited health conditions?
    For the latter, Genomia offer a pretty comprehensive range of health tests - there are other labs too.
    We used to have a member who Embark tested all her stock and got much more info about the genes her dogs were were carrying - including colour inheritance and the like.
    I don't think there are any specific recommended DNA tests for Malinois in the UK at present - just eye testing, and elbow and hip scoring. The AKC is more specific though.
