Well, not all of it and she has cleaned up every last grain of rice that was on the floor, but she ate most of the chicken and I do not know what else while I was outside talking to Shulamit. Right - Shulamit had brought over her usual Shabbat meal for me, not because she thinks I need it but because while she has cooked for X number of her family, those at home and those who live with husbands/children away - whoever turns up for Shabbat, she decides to make sure there is enough for me as well so that I do not have to cook for Shabbat. She also tends to bring, or send over, Friday's couscous meal. Because. Because she does, is all. And there is usually enough to last me for two or three days. So I did the usual - put the container and roll and whatever else that was in the bag [usually a small container of salad and sometimes some fruit salad] on the table before taking it into the kitchen, and as she was sitting on the wall outside and wanted a chat, left it there while I plonked out for a chat. All of a sudden she started laughing and pointing towards the open doorway into my salon... ...De Dawg had pulled the bag down, managed to open the container of chicken, pulses, vegetables, rice, do not ask what - and was happily scoffing her prize. As Shulamit apparently had well over-cooked she went home and sent her husband over with another container of chicken and pulses, and he had great difficulty in keeping a straight face when looking at De Dawg and telling her in as strict a voice as he could manage, that it was not for her! Needless to say she is not getting her usual first meal today!
I'm sorry Malka, but a cute story nonetheless! Wish I could send a nice meal through the computer wires. I feel your pain. After being so good about not mooching food for years, Sophie discovered one day that she could stand on hind legs and easily be counter height. Needless to say her n' Callie have had several parties with stolen goodies.
