Have they made a mistake as Saturday is Working and Pastoral. Low entry for Gsds 119 dogs -143 entries. Wonder who well get for commentators this year?
So sorry, it is not them - it is me! Thanks for pointing it out. I don't know why I put that - maybe concentrating too hard on getting the times right.
Yes - Veteran bitch again! At nearly eleven I'm not over hopeful, but if you don't go you don't have the chance. She came VHC last year, but there were 24 in her class. She loves her shows, but is getting rather too big for her boots in her old age. I think the technical term is sausage fixation!
Friends for life https://www.crufts.org.uk/whats-on/friends-for-life/ public can vote until midday on Sunday 8th March.
@CaroleC - are you still going? According to BBC News Online, Royal Canin and James Wellbeloved have asked their staff not to attend the dog show amid fears over coronavirus, and APDT have also decided not to go. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-51734564
Yes, still going. I was at a show on Sunday, and at a gathering of doggy people yesterday. I'm taking my own food and hand gel. OK it could be lurking in the air-con by Sunday, but I've survived worse. If it was a parvo or kennel cough scare, I would probably be more likely to stay away!
I hear that the overseas exhibitors have not been dissuaded from coming. Can't say for the other breeds, but I don't think many will be missing from the Beagle ranks. We are a little down on last year at 229/264, but with just one judge it is going to be a long day.
I have set a reminder for Crufts YouTube coverage and am looking forward to whatever they decide to show on it.
If there is a second wave of infection, as has been predicted, it will probably become more risky to attend big events, and maybe things like rugby, soccer, pop events, and champ shows will even be cancelled. I do hope not, or it will be a very boring year. By the by, I met Merry's grandmother yesterday, and wish that I had taken a camera with me. She is sixteen years old, and shares the house with her ten year old US Champion daughter, and a six year old male. She scampered into the garden with the younger pair, so bright and fit, and such a pretty OAB. I hope my girl can last the way she has done.
I see there was no bulldog in the Utility group judging because it was not put through after vets found a skin infection. Which begs to question, how it won ‘best of Breed’?
Thank you. xx Re. the TV coverage. Did anyone notice that as they broke for adverts, there was a feature photo of a viewer's dog. I think it was on the Saturday evening that a Portie called Figo was shown with a fair haired woman - so briefly that I can't be certain, but @Jackie if you are still out there, was it you?
