Could Someone Identify The Breed Please?

    Hi,

Myself and my wife recently went on holiday to Cyprus and found a dog breed we would really like to own but we dont know what it is.

Here is a photo, hopefully someone can tell me what breed he is?

    Thanks

Hi I could be wrong but this looks like a cross breed to me.
Maybe Dachshund cross springer. :? Beautiful pup though.

would everyone agree it looks Dachshund cross springer like? lol

I do remember thinking he has abnormally large paws for the size of him

The trouble is, no two crosses of two breeds will be alike, just as no two children of a set of parents will be alike.
Have a look round some Rescue sites and hopefully you`ll find an equally cute pup.

I agree with the above post. If you do want to get a cross breed, then you may have trouble finding a decent breeder that does the correct health tests for both breeds. I would look into a few breeds and see one that fits your family. Remember tempermant, health and breed traits are just as important as looks.

it wasnt really the look although he is a cutie, it was his mannerism.

His over enthusiasm like a kid in a sweet shop, the way he wagged his tail so hard his whole back end moved.

I assume this is 'mainly' attributed to his breed becuase my parents and cousin both have schitsue's and they are just a little subdued not so much fun.

I maybe asking something that cant be answered never owning a dog so please forgive me if my questions seem naive

Sounds a happy little thing, Although not all pups from the same cross would be the same. Have a look into some breed tempermants.

Street dogs in Greece survive only if they`re friendly, so you don`t see many surly ones. Temperament isn`t breed-related, though some breeds had a tendency to being more outgoing than others - however there are always exceptions.

Perhaps you should read up on Springer Spaniels then, they may be the breed for you :)

I don't see any Springer at all - apart from the ticking but many breeds are ticked - I'd guess a hound X crossed with a basset or dachs X

More than 2 breeds in there probably.

If the OP is genuinely interested in having a dog they would be best advised to attend some doggy events and meet lots of different breeds, a stab in the dark guess at what mix a dog may be is not a reason to look for that mix - all dogs are individuals - you could end up very disappointed.
