    Considering Field Trials

Hello all! Hope you and yours are doing well.
I've been thinking about gun dog trials lately, but can't seem to find much information. My OH and I are looking to get a chessie, as I grew up with one and am absolutely in love with the breed. So, it is just something I am trying to look into, but I can't seem to find any basic "starting" information about it.
Does a dog have to be "in-tact" to compete in field trials? I'm about 98% positive that when we get the pup we will neuter him, as we don't plan on breeding or showing. I guess that would just be my biggest question.
I'm in the states, and I'm not sure if field trial requirements and the like are the same here as they are overseas. But any information would be greatly appreciated!

Of course, good old intense retrieving games would do just fine too  Like I said, it was just something I'm considering.

Oh gosh, can't think of their name but there's a Spanish Water Dog in Ohio that does working trials, put in Spanish Water Dog, Ohio and I'm sure that his details will come up and he'll be able to offer you information!
