    Can anyone identify this dog?

Can anyone identify the breed and correct name of colour pattern of the merle coloured dog in these pictures?

I fell across these pics on the net and I am in love! Looks like a working cocker but the ears look too short? :?

The pics are taken from the gamegoer gundogs website but this makes them easier to see which dog as the website has scrolling pics:)

    Not merle.... ticked/roan tricolour.

Apart from that I can't say but it still looks working cocker to me.

Ooh weird, looks like a Setter in a Spaniels body!

I've no idea, possibly Setter cross Spaniel? Or a Blue Roan Sprocker/Cocker?

I think so too, the working Setters are not as big as the show dogs

That's really interesting, I thought the field bred setters were slightly larger than that :)

No, they are tiny in comparison to the show type, some of those I know of are very similar to springer spaniel size with slightly longer legs, beautiful creatures and highly intelligent compared with my darling boy, who was bred for his looks and not his brains

They also tend to have much shorter coats than the show type...the Upperwoods do sometimes mix the working with the show type and have a good reputation in both fields..if I were looking for a working type I would go to them first :)

Looks like a working (Llewellin) type English setter to me too:grin: They are more slender and smaller and less hairy than the show type (Laverack)... he/she is a beauty too;-)

Its an English Setter x Springer, in fact it looks like a friends dog, more of an acquaintance really, from a hunting site I go on. Might be wrong about it being his, but I think the cross is 100%
