I thought with Xmas coming up it might be a good time to post some of our favourite doggy' books/ Films. They can be about training, behaviour, the breed in general, fact or fiction. Here is a few of mine. Moobli a true story of Mike Tomkies and his Gsd Moobli who live in an isolated cottage in the Highlands of Scotland, researching the wildlife there and withstanding the rigors of rural life together. Moobli was Mike’s only constant companion for eight years and Mike tells of his tracking skill in scenting out deer, badgers, otters and even wildcats without harming them, but making it possible for him to achieve a record of the whole cycle of nature in the western Highlands. Fabulous read but have ‘tissues’ ready at the end. Thor It’s more of a study of the relationship between Dog and Man, told entirely from the Dog’s perspective. Thor is a German shepherd, a natural guard dog, but he is usually a gentle giant who takes great pleasure from the love and fun that his family provides. However, when Uncle Ted comes to stay all of Thor’s natural instincts tell him that something is amiss and he must use all of his guile to protect the family from the threat that only he knows is coming. War Dog: The no-man's-land puppy who took to the skies by Damien Lewis The harrowing times that the Czech airman and his dog Antis lived through during the Second World War is heart-wrenching. Often heartbreaking, sometimes funny, none the less a true story of the bond between dog, master and everyone who meets this wonderful partnership. The Total German Shepherd Dog by Fred Lanting. A must for Gsd lovers but some chapters is suitable for owners of any breed. AGGRESSION IN DOGS: PRACTICAL MANAGEMENT, PREVENTION & BEHAVIOUR MODIFICATION by Brenda Aloff Great book! Not just for dogs with problems, good for all types. Culture Clash - Jean Donaldson DOMINANCE: FACT OR FICTION? by Barry Eaton- A book that dispels the myth about dogs and dominance. Ace of Hearts The movie is based on a true story about a policeman named Dan who's dog Ace is framed for attacking a criminal. The owner of course has to try and prove that the dog is innocent and as the dog is supposed to be put down but escapes and tracks down the criminal for what he has done to him.
A dog named Christmas: its about a mentally challenged man (Noel Fisher) embarks on a mission to find homes for dogs during the holidays. The dog is a Labrador
