    Beagles in season

I don't know if my little girl has had her season yet!
I know that that probably sounds incredibly irresponsible. ever since she turned 6 months we bought the nappies etc and were all ready and set just in case...nothing as far as we know. She's a year now so shouldn't she have had two? No idea how I can tell if she's keeping herself clean, she gets walked off the lead so I'm hoping she hasn't been humped when she's ran into the bushes!

Some bitches have silents heats (no bleeding), and some just keep themselves very clean. It is hard to tell when they are in, you just have to check her vulva regularly for swelling and take note of any excessive flirty behaviour!!

Sometimes a season can be hard to spot and it does involve getting a bit 'friendly' to find out. A couple of good signs are weeing more when out (come and get me boys) and licking herself more.

Ela has just come into season for the 2nd time and she isn't bleeding that much yet and none has gone on the floor. The only way we knew was because our other dog cassie keep sniffing her bits and she was licking a lot. A dab with a tissue confirmed the season.
