Ben is my neighbours dog, he is 10 years old now, he is the size of a big BC, small for a GSD, he only has a small patch of white on his chest, other than that his markings are just like a GSD, he takes after the GSD in personality.

I'm loving Jake's pinky nose! My Mum's pup has pink inside his nostrils - it's so cute!

lol, thats a bit like jake. he is the size of a BC just now, but still is growing but think when he is fully grown, he will be the size of a big BC but not quite GSD size. he is unbelievable agile, which i think will be both breeds coming through. but he does the BC stalk and gets fixated on things.

thanks, me too  i love his nose! its soooo cute  although some people we meet think he has scraped it

at the moment I see jake as more collie looking than gsd, but thats prob because hes very young, as you say his colour is changing now, so he may develope to more gsd looking,
I think that massive flash of white may make him look more collie as well as his ears, if they were up he would look more gsd,

    hes a wee stunner though,

thanks  yeah, he looks very BC just now, but his face is getting much more tan and so are his legs, its beginning to creep further up them lol. when i first got him, he had no tan on his face lol. and his ears are just weird just now, for a while both were sticking up like this,

but then one day one just flopped down, and so he has one up and one down now, like this...

 or the left one just sticks out to the side...

    lol, you certainly would ;-)

thanks   i think he is unique too

I can't see the GSD in him either, for the same reasons as you and his nose is a bit on the short side hehe.

Have to agree with everyone else about that pink nose though!

Can't see much GSD either, if there is, it would certainly be less than half IMO, you'd expect a heavier coat from GSD and Collie and an undercoat, more bone e.t.c. With that tail and his shape and colour/markings, maybe some basenji? I think it's likely he's a 1st class mongrel.

i can see the GSD, especially as his colouring and markings are changing as he grows. both the vets also said they see GSD. i think he looks very like the dogs in the pics, and ben that TBBS posted. maybe it will show more as he grows...

i thought basenji aswell, for both looks and personality. but they arent a particularly common breed so think the chances are small...

aw, thats so nice   jake says big thank you's and sends many licks

Is he def a GSD x BC?

I don't think vets are that great with breed guessing, I've told mine what Vito is and she Still calls him a malamute!

Oscar had a pink & black mixed nose when he was a pup (I'll see if I can dig out a photo and get it online) but by the time he was 18 months it had gone all black. I was hoping he'd keep his pink/black spotty nose.

Hope Jake's stays as it is. It is very cute. He is a gorgeous dog.

no, all i was told by the sspca was that he was a crossbreed, probably with BC but as he was only 7 weeks it was hard to tell.

when he was pup, the vet said BCxLab but since then a different vet said BCxGSD and then when he went back to the sspca to get neutered they said he looked like BCxGSD too and thats what they put in the paperwork for him.

lol, let me know if you can think of it ;-)

thanks  i hope jake keeps his lol.

aw, that must be so cute! wish i had done that lol although i have plenty pics of him
