Happiest Vintage, In-Betweenie & Puppy – A happy dog should be one that is calm, friendly and relaxed, without being overly excited or showing signs of fear or stress. In general a happy dog will be alert and attentive with relaxed body posture, a wagging tail and its ears up. NB: These behaviours in isolation would not necessarily indicate a happy dog – judges will look for a combination of the above behaviours. Dog That Most Resembles its Owner – Do you and your dog have an uncanny resemblance? If so this is the class for you! Handled like a Pro Junior and Adult handler – Following the judge’s directions, each handler demonstrates walk to heel, sit resume walk to heel, right-about turn, walk to heel and down – stay until released by judge. Judge will look to see if the dog’s attention is on its owner and for the dog’s eagerness to accept and follow leadership from the owner. Prize is awarded for the least number of deviations from instruction. Prettiest Bitch/Handsomest Dog - Do you own the most beautiful dog? If so these are the classes for you. As well as a well-behaved dog the judges will look at the condition of the dog's coat, claws and teeth. Best Staffie / Staffie Cross - A happy dog should be one that is calm, friendly and relaxed, without being overly excited or showing signs of fear or stress. In general a happy dog will be alert and attentive with relaxed body posture. Following the judge’s directions, each handler demonstrates walk to heel, sit resume walk to heel, right-about turn, walk to heel and down – stay until released by judge. The Judge will look to see if the dog’s attention is on its owner and for the dog’s eagerness to accept and follow leadership from the owner. Prize is awarded for the least number of deviations from instruction. Rescue Dog of the Day – Each dog owner introduces his or her dog to the judge. In 1 minute or less they outline the dog’s condition at the time of adoption, the owner’s efforts to rehabilitate the dog and key improvements and their quality of life as a result. Dog of the Day – Bark in the Park’s Grand Finale! The winner is drawn from 1st place winners from all the previous categories. PLEASE NOTE. The judge’s decision is final. Rosettes are issued to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
