Does anyone else as a ball crazy dog ? K9 with his new football At the photo shoot Even as a ball in paddling pool No ball is safe when K9 is around, he will steal other dogs balls when on the park & as even nicked a ball from some teenagers who were having a kick about on park.
Great pics as always. I had a border collie who was ball mad. All my other dogs have enjoyed playing with balls, but aren't obsessed by them. I once knew someone with a Dobermann who used to have to carry money with her so she could offer to pay for the balls he nicked and damaged.
Ahem - I have a number of punctured basketballs and footballs in the corner of my patio. Well it is not my fault that kids kick them down and then refuse to come and get them because "we are scared of the dog". I have told them - you kicked the ball/s down, you come and fetch them!
I cannot throw balls back up to the pavement because [1] I do not have the strength in my arms and [2] how am I supposed to pick up a ball and throw it up onto the pavement even if I could, when I have to plonk out on crutches to get them? Kicking is totally out of the question for obvious reasons. So, one Shabbat afternoon after being yelled at by countless boys for me to give them their ball back, I plonked out and somehow managed to get it indoors. And closed the door on the chain so it was partially open. Five minutes later knock on the door - father of one of the boys demanding the [by then punctured by Da Booga] ball back. So I opened the door wide - pushed the ball out - and Da Booga chased out as well! Well she would, of course! The man rushed up the ramp screeching - and the ball is still there! The thing is that I had told these kids countless times, they kick the ball down, they want it back, then come and get it. It is not my problem to get it back to them, nor is it my problem if they are scared of a dog who would rush in if they came down the path as she is more scared of them!
Diesel my staffy is ball mad but he's quite particular. He has a yellow large, hard rubber ball on a rope, no other colour will do . He also has a huge red boomer ball on the patio which he drives us all crazy with. The others stand inside the doors when he's playing with it cos he's likely to do them all a mischief as he charges around like a lunatic.

Georgina, play with a ball? You must be joking! That would require her to expend too much energy which she'd rather spend sleeping!
