Arrrgh, How Can You Dry Out Books?

I just discovered the ****ing radiator has been leaking in the living room. My kid left books over there. Anyone know how to dry them? I've got such a mess over there but I want to try to save the books...help

I would probably try to dry them on a rad - but I'm not sure if it'd work as I've never tried it before :101:

My daughter once dropped a book into the bath and no way could we dry it [no radiators as no c/h]. It was rather embarrassing as it was a library book taken out on my ticket. It had to be on my ticket as it was in the adult section [and I do not mean that type of adult] and not the children's section - and she was too young to get an adults ticket.

She was rather precocious in her reading tastes!

I have never managed to dry books. I've tried interleaving, but they seem to either cockle badly, or stick in a mass. I think it might depend on the type of paper.

Thank you, I'm trying putting them tent-like in the oven. Fortunately they didn't get soaked completely. I used to read books in the tub, switched to magazines...not a big deal if they get dunked. The rest of the floor cleaned up pretty well. But we found a new leak in the basement. Oh joy, this house was built at the turn of the century with original plumbing...Some day they'll level it, cracked foundation and a bunch of other issues, but it's home.

Same as cell phone, Bubbila, rice in a ziplock bag. Add some paper towels to absorb moisture.
