A newly formed Walking Group is holding its first walk locally on Sunday, so I thought I'd go along in the hope of finding some new places to walk. It's nothing challenging - a five mile walk starting and finishing at a local cafe. and it sounds welcoming - children and dogs on leads are welcome (i'm assuming the children don't have to be on leads!) I won't be taking any of my dogs though - I'd rather check out what it's like first. Whether they will in the future be sticking to short walks or, as I hope, doing much longer ones, I don't know. Just hoping it's not pouring with rain or unseasonably hot on Sunday!
Before I moved the training club used to do a weekly dog walking group, it wasn’t to big usually around 7/8 regulars, I used to really enjoy it as did the dogs ,there was usually a pub on route where we’d pop in for a quick refreshment on way back. Have been pondering wither to try and set one up here but haven’t got round to it yet.
I started a dog walking club 7 years ago its called The Sensible Dog Walkers Club, there are 20 full members & about 30 seasonal walkers, we go walkies each morning together & early evening together [safety in numbers]
Tina you put me to shame - what a bundle of energy you are! I don't know how you fit it all in. Don't tell Eddie, he'll be asking for a more energetic Mum!
I started it to socialize K9 when he was a puppy & for him to be taught by older dogs how to behave around dogs, I can tell you he was put in his place on more then one occasion.
