One of my friends has a lovely little dog who when she got her was told it's a Collie beagle cross. It's definately BC (although hard to tell!) because that was the mum. They thought it was mated with a beagle, but she looks far too corgi-ish? She runs and herds in little circles, has MASSIVE ears and very short legs. She has a long bushey tail with a white tip. Weighs about 7kg I think. What do you all think?! (She's the tan coloured one on the left in the pictures): [/IMG]
I can see corgi... dont see the BC though just goes to show how difficult it can be to know what are in crosses though, when the mum was a BC.
JRT corgi? not uncommon.... or equally beagle or just corgi? The Border's well hid. Who was a naughty girl...
Yep apparently the mother was pure BC.. crazy because I can't see it at all, so perhaps she's a mix somewhere down the line, that just looked more collie and produced a non-collie looking pup! Half the litter were Black and White collie looking and half were smaller and white and tan. Although she was the smallest. Now people say JRT I do see a bit of that as well as corgi! Still struggling with a beagle so think that's a no no for the father! At the risk of sounding stupid.. is it ever possible to be double mated and carry 2 parents offspring, or is that not for dogs? Infact is that for any animal or am I inventing ideas?! Thanks for your guesses anyway
An old roommate of mine had an intact St. Poodle male, his neighbour bred and showed her GSD... her last time being bred, she had half a litter of purebred GSD's and half a litter of "Shepadoodles"!!! The neighbour was supremely pissed They live in the country, and no one fences in their dogs there... but the lady with the bitch should'a been more careful!
People I knew once managed half a litter of carefully sired JRTs and half a litter of JRT/ Neighbouring farms Sheepdog....
