Is this a bad or good thing I'm use to my dogs loving to sleep in the bed with me but my akita puppy doesn't seem to want to even when I invite him he will play on the bed with me but not sleep in the bed with me he will only sleep on the floor beside the bed on my side or in the bedroom doorway I'm not really worried about just curious if anyone has any meaning to this . Sorry for the weird question haha
My previous two dogs always slept on the bed with me. Of the two I have now one has never been interested in sleeping with me. By choice she prefers to sleep on her mattress next to my bed. The other one will sometimes sleep on my bed but usually only in winter when he's feeling a bit cold. Otherwise he'll sleep in my armchair in the living room or on his mattress at the foot of my bed. Again entirely his choice!
I think I'd be pleased, it is so hard removing all those hairs from the bedding. Probably because I'm a little allergic to dogs, I prefer to sleep dog-free!
I posted a thread similar to this before, count yourself lucky! Lol. I agree with it probably being to warm, my dog will only sleep on a thin blanket on the floor and maybe on her mattress sometimes.
Out of my 6 dogs only one sleeps updates on or in my bed (on top of bed during summer & in bed under quilt over winter) my other 5 dogs sleeps downstairs. However 2 of my lodgers dogs sleep on floor next to their owners bed but my 3rd lodger (my brother) dog a GSD always sleeps in bed with my brother
One of my Akitas wouldn’t go on the bed at all; the other would come up for a little while then off again. Heiko comes on for a bit then goes to his own bed.
I think it's because of the heat and that their cold climate dogs. Mine won't sleep on anything that's not hard floors. Won't even sleep in her own bed even though I reduced it to a plastic bed with a thin blanket rather than so.ething cushioned to try entice her. She just sprawls out on the kitchen tiles.
I really do miss "the heartbeat at my feet" [Edith Wharton] but after Pereg I said no more dogs on the bed. And little Tikva is happy in her night crate in my bedroom so whether I would like her cuddled up to me or not, it is probably better for both of us.
Ours won't sleep in the bed either. He'll jump up to snuggle or play for a few minutes and then gets down. He prefers the cool tile floor and right now sleeps in front a fan too. I tried the dog chillow (can't remember the real name) but it was way too small for him.
