I decided I wanted a nap and thought what is my recliner for? and Thing decided to join me. That is the first time I have tried since she landed with me, and the first time she decided that cuddled up on my lap was better than zonking on the couch, not letting me be comfortable. It was lovely - Pereg was a bit too big and much too heavy to curl up on my lap, and it has been a long time since Little One was here to do it - so to wake up and find the devil puppy curled up on my lap was like magic. When she wants to be good she is oh so good. Long may it last.
Sounds like the demon child is starting to wiggle into your heart. You never know as time passes the thing might surprise you in many more ways.
Tikva has recently wanted to sit on my lap occasionally when I am sitting at the computer, but she cannot get up on my chair so needs hoiking up. Has a sniff of the keyboard and whatever else is on the table, then wants down, I have sometimes been able to have a short nap on the couch but as she has made a nest of the throw in the middle of it, it did not leave me much room and she sulked as she says the couch is hers. I had actually forgotten how comfortable my recliner is - it has fabric covering and when I bought it I had extra padding put in to support my lower spine. It is also not a normal full width one so keeps me straight. Tikki was zonked out on the couch so I decided to have a nap on the recliner - and while I was napping she stealthily got on my lap, curled up and carried on with her zonk! She has always been in my heart even when she is being diabolical, but I am not used to a puppy her age who seems almost untrainable. Nearly 9½ months old and about the only instruction she will do is "sit" - and even then she just lowers her bum and then shoots up again. And why does she pee 6" from a pee pad? She has a coat like velvet, she was so comfortable and it was a real pleasure having her curled up on my lap.
@CaroleC - lovely picture I really miss having a wubble sleeping on [not in but on] the bed with me, but Tikva's crate is at the foot of my bed and that is what she has always been used to. So better she stays in it. She is actually on my lap right now, trying to mess up my typing, but she will get down when she has seen enough, and in any case her 8pm evening meal is due in ten minutes.
