A loving, scatty yet biddable gundog they may be..but i think the core of all springer's is that they are the ultimate loveable rouges, Ralph illustrates it perfectly-but look at him, ain't he handsome?!?! If he didn't have those eyes i think i would have murdered him for his various antics by now So grown up looking..nine months this month. "The Gundog"
Indeed Sal, he gets away with murder (literaly) with those eyes, he has had me in tears before now and can be a right little so n so at times, but deep down he is a lovely dog! Trouble just seems too follow him..and it's never intentional, he is just so god damn curious that he ends up in trouble! But such a soppy sod, one of the rabbits is having a BIG tooth problem at the mo (full diagnosis has not yet been made), and is quite under the weather..yet went off food completley when was brough inside, so ut back out in the hutch..i was checking the mouth of him out today, and Ralph had too be there..n just kept putting his paws inside the hutch n licking his head He is a loveable chap...grown far too quickly and i miss that little fat, spotty belly that i used to blow rasberrys on!
He is just beautiful, I do love his gentle expression with a hint of mischief in those eyes. No wonder you're smitten with him, he is gorgeous.
Oh Luke just look at your handsome young man. He looks so handsome and distinguished in the first pic. He is coming on a treat
Thanks Ladies, any ideas for getting him in the ring have since been abondaned-he just never seemed to take to any kind of 'show training' at all-and his happiness is paramount, whereas his 'field' training is coming on well..he is still only working with dummies but has been out with the gun, just for hearing sake, on a few occasions. He has a super temperament and a nice look too him, i really like that he is 50/50 field and show bred..not too exadgerated show type look yet not OVERLY manic as most field type lines, sadly, tend too be nowdays (JMO of course but a lot of the field type lines really seem far too manic-even for an ess) Will definatley have more and was sorely tempted when i heard that sometime next year a repeat mating of Ralph's dam and sire would be taking place, however i have told myself sternly no!! Two young dogs are quite enough for me, maybe a nice liver and white bitch in a few years time..but not for now.
Lovely photos Luke - Ralph could get away with murder in my house anytime, I love him. He is turning into a really handsome young man
Thanks Kirsty, i think Flame and Moss would up sticks and leave if Ralph moved in..he could run any dog ragged!
oh luke - what a sweetie ralph is - very handsome fella! he reminds me so much of my old springer -sam. look after each other. x
