Mals on a run ..from the drivers viewpoint Stephen took the little camera out with him this evening Lazy old Hudson hardly does anything but Maddy works her little butt off
The girls pull, Hudson GETS pulled So he goes behind the girls ..he can't go in the middle because of the ropes
Ideally, if all dogs were pulling equally then they should be running in a formation similar to the picture below (sorry it is a bit of a crude drawing): As the middle dog (Maddy) is doing a lot of the work, the rig is pulled directly behind her. You will also find though that the dog at the back sometimes doesn't want to run directly behind another dog and they will pull out to the side a little. If you have four then they do tend to keep to the formation above. I also run a three and that is the same formation I use (ie 2 up the front and one at the back, however my wheel dog (the one at the back) is my strongest dog. Another formation you can run with three is the 'fan'. Most tend not to do this as some organisations won't allow you to run in a fan and trails need to be wider.
Will try some different formations, thanks , we have tried the 3 across the front and it doesn't work with our 3 ..they just start sniping at each other, girls are bosses in our house
