I see one occasionally where I walk, he is lovely looking boy and very people friendly but male dog aggressive, or would be if his owner wasn't on the ball with his training
leadstaffs - pictures are needed!!!! I LOVE Welsh terriers. As most people on Dogsey know my previous rescue was a horrendously abused little Welshie. Unfortunately he had to be PTS and I am still grieving for him if I am honest. Such a character.
Absolutely GORGEOUS! Have been desperate to do some terrier racing but have yet to find anywhere any where near me
That was at a vulnerable breed weekend last June. She kept coming second as she thought the idea was to chase the dog in front rather than the lure Suzanna is Trinny's sister and the pup is hers
I had one until Dec 2006 when she passed, a smart athletic girl; Now I have an Airedale, a little less high strung but still a runner!
we're hoping to get a welsh terrier pup soon, the litter should be born this week and then in a few weeks we see it with mum then if it all looks right we'll collect a few weeks after that. Then its me at home house training whilst hubberz goes to work! x
I had three a while back, one then two. I now have a Border. My Welshies were a handful and I was an experienced terrier owner. They loved to hunt for vermin, especially groundhogs, and would easily kill a 30lb'er. They were not very interested in people and couldn't care less about pleasing. But, that was just these particular dogs. But ... they are beautiful when properly groomed, have a wonderful terrier grin, a great black nose and tons of spunk. As a terrier owner, I much prefer my Border; more of a people dog.
My Kerry Blue male Parker was put in for terrier racing but he was so desparate to get away from the Jack Russells who were making a horrible noise he ran the wrong direction! Someone I know has a Welsh terrier, she wanted a Kerry but her vet advised her they weren't good with children (?) so she got a Welsh. I originally wanted an Airedale but my husband said too big so we got Kerries. Are they very motivated? Parker and Cherry have trophies and awards for heelwork to music, obedience and agility. Cherry is actually a Collie in terrier garb I think!
