i am going to see a pup from a local breeder tomorrow eve-she is a sbt the last of the litter and 4 months old-she is from health tested parents who are successfull show dogs. obviously i have not been to see her so cannot decide now-but the breeder tells me she is grey in colour-not grey and white but whole block coloured-i have not seen one this colour before-anyone got any pics of a grey?? are they accepted in the show ring-i am thinking of possibly showing one day. thanks.
Hi solid blue is not an uncommon colour these days although most are far from show standard. However if both parents are successful show dogs hopefully the pup may be show quality. Blue is an acceptable colour in the ring but successful blues are few and far between.
Grey is what they call blue. It is an acceptable colour for showing but fact is it will get penalised because it will not have a black nose even if it looks almost black. Are the Parents blue? If they are successful showers you can pm me there affix or Sire and Dams names and can let you know if I have heard of them Do you know the results of the health tests and which ones have the parents had.
L-2-HGA/ HC clear both parents CH CASHLEE CHARMER AT CROSSGUNS the above is- i think the sire or grandsire- the guy was quite confusing-obviously i would confirm the breeding when i go to see the pup and a copy of health tests etc
Blues tend not be be 'show standard' i don't know why, but I have only ever seen a handful of superb looking blues who are to 'standard' They do not do very well in the show ring as they aren't listed as standard. Gorgeous none the less. x
They tend not to do well in he show ring because a very high % are bred for colour and not confirmation. They tend not to have black noses although some do have dark noses. If this pup has been as a result of a Black brindle mating and not just bred because someone can charge a higher prie for the colour then there is a chance it may be a good breed type.
