I thought Woody's were blue when we first got him, but they've now gone a lovely shade of green. Have googled it but nothing comes up. Are they all different? What does it depend on? Would love to know.
Our puppies are all born with blue eyes and the deep bown colour develops over time. I think you might find those lovely green eyes will turn to the required hazel colour in time.. Sorry (Dark-eyed) Thalice English Setter
Jamie came to us with beautiful dark grey/blue eyes and they stayed like that for ages and I too hoped they would stay.... but they are now chocolate and very yummy Deacon's eyes were blue when they opened, but he came home at 8 weeks with brown ones.... I also wanted a liver nose, and now Jamie has given in to his Mummy by changing his nose colour...though would still like it more pinky
Yep - all puppies are born with blue eyes, but they change as they get older (just like babies have blue or black eyes at birth). I thought springers had brown/hazel eyes.
As others have said, pups are born with blue eyes and they tend to change over time, eventually ending up the colour they should be for the breed.
Don't worry you will find yourself drowning in the gaze of the dark hazel eyes just as much as you are in the green ones. In general, apart from Merls, blue or light eyes are a fault. They are also very uncommon in the wild too. EDit to add Sibs also have blue or almost white eyes sometimes along with odd ones as do BCs
Alfie's were a wonderful green until he was about 2 years old - they're now brown, but you can still see some green lights in them when the sun's on him
