Meet Cin She is a 5 month old JRT who has been fostering with us since she was 7 weeks old. She wormed her way into our affections which was quite an achievement as we are Border Collie fans She is a very bright little cookie and picks things up incredibly quickly. I did an awful lot of reading about JRT's before we made any decisions but we are still on new territory here so I am at the start of a new experience. Each of my dogs has a hobby i.e agility, htm, obedience, PAT dog etc and I would like Cin to be no different and have a job to do.....although there is no reason she cannot do any of these things already mentionned any suggestions gratefully recieved, in case you can think of something specific to Terriers that has not crossed my mind I guess the only thing she might not do is run on the rig same as my collies ;-)
What a totally GORGEOUS Jack - she is divine. I love this breed Sounds like she'll enjoy all the activities you've already mentioned. Look forward to more photos of her growing up. She really is delicious! x0x
She is a lovely pup Alexa,I had a cuddle not long after she arrived at Wiccs. Is that kayleigh I see in the pic with her Jeanette
she is gorgeous, i think either agility or a pat dog if she has a good temperament. what a lovely addition
Gorgeous girl Once bitten, forever smitten - that's how it is with jacks, you know Ours does agility, has been asked to be a PAT dog, if she was younger when we got her would have done HTM - formal obedience we've never done, but training they can and do pick up, but really work best for reward based methods - they do have an independent streak that asks what's in it for me? Couple of my other friends with younger jacks go to flyball and their jacks adore that. Hope you have many years of fun with darling Cin. x
Yay, well done Cin but what took so long If she is anything like my T`Akaya ;-) maybe Flyball would be a good avenue for her, and if she does, [ T`Akaya will be doing soon hopefully ], and if they are near enough same size our girls could start a Wiccaweys Shrimps Flyball Team
Exactly what I was thinking I love my Dobies but I think I'll always have a jrt of some description as well, home wouldn't be the same without one.
LOL Patch Cin is weeny and probably wont ever get too big. I think she might quite like Flyball but I have never been able to find a good club round here.....the only one we visited we never went back because we were told we were not 'heavy handed' enough with our dogs and that we were too 'nice' to them...... She could be a possible contender for another PAT dog when she gets past the 6 month age limit but id like her to mature a little more and her full personality to develop.
If you think she is cute now......look at the pics of her when she firdt came to us. Its a miracle we held out so long...
If you are an active owner which you sound like you are - then you will never look back from a Jack. I could rave about this breed all night and considering the current political climate - tend to be quite hardy and healthy to boot! Get her into a ball now, that way she'll be easier to train, what I've found with jacks is; if you interact with them enthusiastically they'll do pretty much what you want them to - they'll do most things your bc will do, including agility. Love 'em!
Maybe you can be my jack russel convertor and prove to me that they can be as adorable as she looks in the pics! Yaya!!!!!
