In today`s Daily Record there is an ad for boxer puppies Boxer Puppies Red/White ( Rare) - price was listed £475, this angers me so much what do you all think Ive heard of white pups being called rare which of course they are not, this is the first time Ive heard I actually have one these "rare" boxers. yvonne Ive just phoned the people who put the ad in, bsaically I was told they are rare and she could advertise however she wants. I told her she was false advertising and Iwas told to they would do as they liked,
we had reds and they are harder to find now than years ago,but i wouldn't consider them to be rare. i would say trading standards as well as it is mis leading in the way they have advertised as rare. just their way of getting ppl to buy not knowing any better, but saying that if the new owners have looked them up etc they would know the reds are not a rare boxer just another colour. some people will do any thing to get noticed and a bit of cash.....grrrrrrrrrrr.
Would add that you can't advertise just as you wish, it has to be the truth else you are breaking the law.
People will do anything to seel their pups...once knew of a woman who had a white GSD.She bred it despite It having a hip score of well over 50(can't remember exact score). She advertised the pups saying the mum was a top show winner and when I phoned pretending to be a potential buyer she was honest about the hip score...BUT TOLD ME THE HIGHER SCORE THE BETTER!!!!!!!
but the sad thing is unless you know the breed some don't know any better. while people don't educate them selfs regarding any breed they are interested in these kind of people will get away with it all i can say is what happens to the pups that have health issues................... got to stop making me so mad.
people think the word "rare" means something special. that is why it is used, it is simply sales-speak. rare would be a two legged purple spotted dog (OK im exaggerating for emphasis ) I dont agree with the production of white boxers. I would never breed from a white bitch or a bitch which could produce white, even if the puppies were rare and fetched silly money, I think its wrong. I have only commented on this thread as i was invited to by finnigan. My opinions usually tend to go down like a lead balloon :smt090 but there you have it. ho - hum
We all have opinions CBT and this isnt like some other sites we do argue in Heated Debate but we do appreciate other peoples views, so do continue, what use is a heated debate without the debate.
Im sorry CBT this is false advertising, the people are lying , there is no such thing as a rare boxer, this advertiser is insistant red is rare & told me to FO when I tried to explain they were`nt, I 100% believe white boxers should be not be bred, I would be interested on how many boxer breeders "don`t have white pups" in any of thier litters, yvonne
Well I phoned this treasure last night. I was going to ask if she had any white pups (just out of interest) and what her answer would be. Anyway the minute I asked why reds were rare I was told to F**k O**. Do you think it was anything to do with Yvonne? LOL
No need to be sorry, I completely agree with you, people use the word "rare" as they think it will help the pups to sell quicker and for more money.
I have spoken to some show breeders about this subject in the past. There is a rich deer red which is not that common - depending, I should imagine on what part of the country you are from. Therefore maybe these people were misguided on what was rare and what wasnt! If they were the deep rich red and came from a show line I would have thought they would have been charging more than £475 a pup. On the other hand if they were breeding from a pet dog whose parents had been shown, £475 would have been fairly reasonable, again depending on what part of the country they came from. It would have been interesting to see just what colour the puppies were.
The pups in question are red/white, these people are deliberately misleading people, boxers of any colour are not rare , and if there was a rare boxer it would fetch a lot more than £475, I spoke to the advertiser they know exactly what they are doing, yvonne
Yvonne I want a rare Boxer to go with the rare one Iv already got! Have you got any in rescue????? Only joking. ROFLMAO
:lol All our boxers are "rare" yvonne Better not tell my Bonnie she is rare, she already more uppity than the other two, maybe its the name yvonne
Hi iv just joined Dogsey, and just finding my way around this sight but find this conversation interesting. White boxers mmm many years ago were disposed of because they had so many issues. But today they are reappearing its up to each individual what they prefer i think the whites are as cute as hell.and can live just a heathly life as any fawn, red brindle. If you dont do your homework with beading then they will appear in a litter, but also will a pear in a bitches first litter due to the hormones also high numbers of pups in litters to. I think the woman doesnt even have a good pedigree there either just doing it for the money witch if your a boxer lover you do it for the breed and make sure you introduce good health pups as best as you can. I have had boxers for 20 years wouldnt have any other breed. My 2 year old bitch has just had a litter last thursday pups are all good we have a mix of brindle red and 2 whites in there all very very healthy this was her first whelp.
