They are ALL stunning.......love the blue eyes. Sorry have BC's but have Blk/wht and tri's........you lucky lot.
We have a new blue merle BC called Dylan (after bob), he's 8 weeks old, and adorable! i just don't know how to post a photo up here, as the pics are file on my pc not URLs....?? i will keep trying your photos above are gorgeous! I can't wait until Dylan and his brother Cash are old enough to go on adventures in Derbyshire! Jo x
love them all do you think ice looks like my dylan boy dylan blue merle. dont see short coated merles very ofton :?
Ice looks very similar to Dylan, we said the same that you don't see many short coated Merles. When we had Ice we were told that no one wanted him because he was ugly, but we think he is georgous
ugly are they mad he is a little stunner i love the merles ,our willow has bluemerle in her as well but she is a mixture (dolly mixture we think ) ice is stunning . every where we take dylan people ,allways say he is stunning love the name suits him ;-)
Everyone at Training love Ice, & can't understand why no one wanted him. Wouldn't It be Lovely if we could get all the Merles together for a pic Just think what It would look like
Gorgeous pics above! i figured out the photo-thing... here is Dylan, our 8 week old BC playing with his brother Cash
he he brings back memories that dos i used to say dylan was marked like a little tiger cub (when he was a baby ) you might find the black will grow cover larger patch ,he sure is stunning , our dylans eyes were blue at first ,but changed to brown/the one has grey look about it how did you choose the name (i loved the name dylan ,we both did .i allso wonted a willow love that name to )
I would say she was heavily ticked....merles carry a dilute gene (I think). Sirens brothers..... (Ok....hes red merle...)
i would say she is the same as our willow look ,i call willow (for arguments sake :? merle tri heavily ticked ) blue merle on her back tri face she is a little beauty
Loving this thread some fabulous blue merles I will try and get round to posting one of my princess :mini: Totally agree with mish niether Mia or Willow are merles they are fantastic beautiful examples of heavily ticked border collies have a look here for more photos http://www.colliecorner.com/spot_a.htm The dilute gene (recessive) is not linked with the Merle gene (dominant), dilute will act upon merle and is expressed as lilac or slate merles. Any colour of border collie can carry a dilute. On a very basic level Dilute will only be expressed if two copies are inherited, whereas only one copy of merle is need for its expression. If your interested see Nat's website link below for a comprehensive breakdown on border collie coat colours with some very nice photos to http://bryningbordercollies.com/Border-Collie-Colours TTFN DC
Ah thankyou, I did think that but so many people keep telling me Mia is a merle Some lovely coloured dogs there, and good advice never to breed for colour as the most important thing
