Does anyone know of a purebred border collie WITHOUT a white tip to his/her tail? Just a conversation I was having with my OH tonight!
The pattern that BC's have also has the white tip, some may not have many white hairs at the end but I've yet to groom a BC that hasn't had a white tip! Same as the flashy Boxers, their pattern also has a white tip which will now be more obvious as they will have their tails left on! Becky
I grew up on a farm with no less than 6 BC at any one time, and have owned several over the years, but I've never seen one without a white tip to it's tail
i now Alfie, farm bred, ....but only has a 3/4 lengthy tail & that has a knot on end...no tip...... But i suspect he would have had he had his full tail!
Yes I've seen several. I've only seen one which has more white on it's back feet than it's front and I am always on the look out for another
My Auntie's old girl had no white tip to her tail, but that did have something to do with my Auntie accidently shutting her tail in the door when she was about 6 months old
theres one at our training without a white tip (had a good look tonight ) re: laura, now you've said that i'm going to be obsessively looking for one!!!
Neither myself and OH have ever seen one without a white tip - apart from dogs who have lost the end of their tail! ;-) I will have to watch out now that some of you have seen some without!
Or have the dogs owners call the police as someone keeps following them trying to get a better look at their dog.
This is something which i've thought about myself. I have to say that Jed having a white tip is very useful when it comes to finding him in the dark and also locating him in tall vegetation! And here he is, complete with more white on his back feet than his front!
lol I think more white on back than front is far rarer than tipless tails. - http://www.corriedhu.co.uk/notips.htm I've got a few more photos of registered dogs with no white on their tails but I can't post them because they aren't my photos.
