Boris isn't actually an NI. We call him an NI type as his pedigree is unknown. His mother was a GSD x and we were told that his father was an imported canadian inuit dog that came over to Ireland with his owner who moved here.

Puppy Keena at about 7 or 8wks, Little white girl with just a dark streak in down the middle of her back and a couple dark streaks down her tail. And a bit of apricot where she would go dark later. Keena changed really rapidly and was a suprise as I hadn't seen many NI before her and wasn't sure if she would get much colour.

and 10wks, with colour just creeping through.

Her mask spreading further back on her head and colour getting darker on her body

And her final colour which hasn't changed too much since this pic at 5 months old

    Adult Keena

Takoda was so back and forth, light, dark, light, dark - and took a lot longer to get to his final colouring. He was my forever changing boy = alot of pictures!

This was more than likely the lil man - together with a little patch of pee LOL (his breeder was almost certain this was him)

at about 6wks before we picked him

9wks - not too much change

at about 14wks with his body starting to get a different colour

Body getting darker at 4 months and quite short coated

    Showing his contrasting britches off!

    Really dark at 5 months

Body lightening back up at 6 months but face getting darker

Body getting lighter still and fuller coat coming through at 8 months

Getting more of a mask / darker face

    paler body

    At 10 months

and really dark again at 12 months

Little juvenille face showing his mask

and his final colouring which hasn't changed much from these pictures to date

Also to give people more of an idea of colours, this is who made Kody,

    His mum

    and Dad

I don't have any pics of Keena's mum and dad but if Julie comes along later she might come and put some up of them.

This is a great thread i love watching them change colour!

Vienna went darker, lighter, darker, lighter all over the place i think! Her forehead and the stripe on her tail has always stayed very dark. She had very chocolate brown colouring on her when she was a pup as well.

First night home at 9 weeks old

    About 13 weeks

    About 15 weeks

    At about 5 months old

Around 6 months old still very dark

8 months starting to lighten up

1 year old some more defined light bits around her shoulders and tail

About 15 months here looking much lighter with her weimy friend

    About 16 months here

Here you can see the black, grey, silver and cream colours in her coat. She has single hairs that are black then cream then black then cream! lol she is a multi coloured hair dog
