Has anyone got photos of Cocker Spaniels with tails? I have never seen one and my friend has and she says they look odd with them!! I would really love to see what they look like... please!!!!!
Cockers look fabulous with tails! I'm sure there's a few on here who wouldn't mind sharing their doggie pics with you lol! Becky
No photos but saw an American Cocker at Horley Show on Sunday - didn't look odd just different IMO. Saw a Rottie too with full tail - just going to have to get used to these breeds with tails now won't we I guess.
I think spaniels are one of the few breeds that don't immediately look "odd" with tails. I don't think you double take as much as with other breeds - say a rottie. I think it's down to the feathering on the tail. Helen
I've seen huge variation in lengths of tailed cockers and feathering, some are longer than the body but my tailed cocker Lottie has a very short tail, as you can see it just about reaches her hocks .
I've got 7 with tails, 2 docked and I love their lovely flags! Jasmine's tail is naturally shorter - not docked, just not as long and thin as some of my other girls, it's thicker than Petals, who's is quite long and thin, but I love them all stumps and all.....lol Will try and get some of my girls later.
Look forward to seeing your dogs! I think they will look as beautiful with their tails! My mate went out of her way to get a puppy with a docked tail she thought they looked odd with them He is 18mths now and he has got a long stump though!!:?
I have two working cockers, one with a tail and one without, I must admit I didn't like the tail at first but it's not that bad , it's quite long and 'whip like' and hurts like hell when she catches you across the back of your legs with it!! I can't figure out how to post a pic though!!
Hi I know a few cockers with tails, they look nice but i have meet a few that have scaps on there tails, they wag them that much that they hit them on everything and make them bleed! but it doesn't seem to bother them! he he
Would much rather see a cocker with a tail, or a 3/4 working dock. I remember my friend having a show type cocker with a tail about 15 years ago, and at the time she raised more than a few eyebrows, but he was so sweet, and it looked just like a sooty wand!!
