Is it just me or are the photos from the beginning of this thread, ex-photos, never sure if it is my browser or the fact that the owners of the photos have removed them.

Have some photos of a nice young bitch, will sort them out later and inflict them on you. :)

I like Archie, but why not wait to see his look and attitude when you go to collect him - his personality may make up your mind for you. Their faces are just so expressive, with their crinkly brows and frowns and when they tip their head on the side when they see something they don't quite understand - it is a tonic that will brighten up any day.
He will give you so much joy.

Well, we finally decided on Odi (as in Garfields doggy friend )

We met him last week, and we think it really suits him (even if my mother thinks it's a ridiculous name for a dog )

My youngest son has already declared that Odi is going to be his best friend for ever and ever

My son is 11. Sydney adores him and he loves her to bits.
If you have young ones, you need to take into account that they are big, strong dogs and if they get the chance they love to play, rough!
Sydney does not have a bad bone in her body. She loves children (if only she could eat a whole one:lol: ).
I have been taking her to school to drop off and collect since she was a pup and she just loves all the little ones.

You can find out more at www.rhodesianridgebacks.org. They have a link to the Welfare Trust that does rehome.

We read loads of books before we got Sydney and went to visit a friend who had one.

We then visited the breeder and found out lots more. She is always available if we have any questions.

It might be a good idea to go along to Discover Dogs this year and/or go along to a dog show where there is a Ridgeback class. We have found that Ridgeback owners (ourselves included!!!) are always really happy to talk "Ridgeback".
Otherwise if you see one out on walkies - go and have a chat (with the owner!!). If they are anything like us they will love to tell you all about their Ridgie.
