Julie, PM me :) i know of a couple breeders, but be warned there is a long wait of sometimes 2 years for a pup.

Thanks for the reply you guys.
I'm not going to think about having one until the end of next year, so i think i had better get my name down on one of their lists.

I'm not sure where exactly you're located but, John Norris of Decoyman Tollers has some really nice dogs, I don't live in the UK but many breeders over here (Canada) can't seem to say enough wonderful things about him and his dogs. Maybe you'd like to talk to him if you're seriously considering getting a Toller :) Here is his site. I hope you're able to have one, they certainly are a wonderful breed!

My OH and I are considering getting a Nova Scotia Duck tolling retriever, we have spoken to one breeder who said her pups were £750 each is this about right for a toller? I saw on a breed info site that the average price for a pup was £300-500?

Hi thanks for the info. I emailed John regarding his tollers to which he very kindly emailed me back. He has quite a long waiting list. I will definately be buying one in the future.
They are stunning. What are they like to live with? Have you got any pictures of yours?

Hannah, that's about the average price here (Canada) when converted over to canadian currency. When I get my next Toller, that's about the same price I'll be paying also.

Jules, I think they're an absolute joy to live with. They're generally pretty laid back in the house (unless you mention the B.A.L.L word...then they get excited!) and pretty quiet. They bark when somebody comes to the door but as soon as I invite them in they stop. When they're excited though, they can be very noisy (I'm sure you must have heard of the "Toller scream"). Activity level wise, I find them very similar to the Border Collie. In general, the females are more hyper than the males but they're really not a whole lot different. I have 1 female Toller/Border Collie mix and my male is purebred (from pure working lines though, so he doesn't look like a lot you'd find on the internet). In a year or two, I'll also be getting a purebred female pup. Here are a few pictures for you:

Just wanted to say how inteligent Tollers are, my partner and I attended a Toller Class last night and was amazed how quickly they pick new things up and how alert every single dog was for the whole time we were there! They were riding scate boards, tidying away toys, jumping through hoops and all sorts they seem to be very able at a lot of different things!
We are certainly looking forward to finding different ways to keep our Toller occupied when we get him!
