    Talk about people not researching their breeds..

    We live in a very quiet (very quiet translated=dead, nothing ever happens-hardly.) cul-de-sac..and was out earlier on this evening talking to a neighbour of ours-she was telling me how they had just had their horse PTS-and as we were chatting Ralph came plodding out to have a sniff around-i kept my eye on him, but know he usually just lies on the little lawn infront of our house, anyway-a person visiting the neighbour i was chatting too, arived and said how her daughter and son-in law were rehoming their 10 month old Springer-i asked why (cause im a nosey sod.) and the response was: "The dog is mental, he bounces off the walls, wants too play all the time, is never happy with the fifteen minutes in the communal garden (they live in a flat), is really destructive and barks whenever they shut him away-i mean they have to work full time, so the dog should learn to be content with its lot"-the womans words, not mine.
    I was literally standing there like:shock: :shock: :shock: :shock:
    15 minutes excersise a day for a springer?!?!-:shock::shock:
    living in a flat?!?!-:shock::shock:
    Left on own all day?!?!-:shock::shock:.
    What the hell did these people think they were gonna get with a springer?!?!
    Its a well known fact how energetic they are and how much stimulation, both physically and mentally, they need-so why would people get one when their circumstances are so very inapropriate?!?!
    I know all springer folk joke about them being mental, scatty etc-but they are a lovely breed-need a lot of work for them to be happy, but i sure think they are worth it-sad that some other people don't:(:(

    Some people are just dumb - and because of that, the poor dog suffers :-(

    We had a Springer some years ago and they are manic, but lovely dogs. Some people were clearly at the end of the queue when brains and common sense were handed out !

    OMG I can just imagine what bedlam I would have if I only gave my dogs 15 mins exercise. Max my Dally is 9 now and even he requires more than 15 minutes. Poor pup!!!!!:cry:

    crackpots, all dogs need more than 15 mins exercise a day:evil: i've has two springers and they were both brilliant dogs with the best natures :)

    shame they dont live near Jen, she's looking for a springer pup.

    Helping out NESSR with the springers we get in I have heard all sorts of excuses that one is a common one!! makes me mad, I often get "ooooh I want one of those" when people meet mine I ask one of what?" "oooh spaniels a small or medium one" ..... I ask what BREED of spaniel .... they say "didn't know there were different breeds"

    I then proceed to explain how much exercise they need etc etc and they normally change their minds :)

    Yep i go into lecture mode when people say my dogs are cute and they'd like one of them, soon puts them off when they realise they have to go for a decent walk day in day out no matter what the weather
