Happy New Year! Our dogs and birds don't like the fireworks. The birds will have a background noise video streaming in the bird room all night ("Parrot Town TV" on YouTube has nice music for pets). I am going to sit with the dogs on the couch and play TV shows.
Well I went to bed and never heard a thing, not even the gale that was blowing outside. The dogs are not that bothered by fireworks, the cats will watch them out the window if they are nearby. I wasn’t that bothered about seeing in the new year, so watched a little tv and then went to bed as I don’t think my eyes would have lasted until after midnight.
I turned the tv off and played online cribbage. It was wet and windy so there were far less fireworks than usual. Tally doesn't mind them anyway, but the next door Terriers were quieter than usual!
The dogs aren't bothered by fireworks at all - Tornado-dog will even watch them if we're outside - so no worries about that here. I stayed up and read until around 2-2:30 and then fed the cats and went to bed. Punx was silly - if a loud firework set off, she'd run under the day bed in their room and then run right back out with her mongoose tail twitching.
