    weak back legs

Hi, I have a 9 month old Great Dane, her hind legs are long and lean. She gets up on her front legs easily, but it takes her a couple of seconds to get her hind legs under her. Is this normal? Will she muscle up with maturity? She has seen a vet and I was told "she is magnificent". Her hind legs weren't discussed.
She can jump right up if she's in a hurry. Just not all the time.
    Thank you for any input.

If your vet did not look at her hips at all, I would have them do so.

While we can provide anecdotal stories, we can't tell you if this is normal for her or not. It may be. But it may mean there is something going on.

Let your vet know your concerns, even better capture a video of her getting up, and have them give her an exam. They can watch and feel and tell you if it's something normal or if xrays are warranted.

I agree, always vet check in case it's something unforeseen

Hopefully, it's just growing pains slowing her down, but still worth checking out
