Hello, I rescued my 11mo old puppy 3 days ago. I am pretty sure she is GSD but can she be a mix of something else too? Someone mentioned she could be a Belgian Mal mix. She has a lean body and a long tail. Her coat on back is mixture of black and brown. Upon further examination, just the tip of the coat is black and inside all brown. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
If you really want to know, do a dna test. It's really hard to tell what breed(s) a dog may be just on appearance. She may have a breed in her mix that doesn't present itself physically. Or she may have a combination of breeds that presents as a different breed. At 11 months, she is a teenager. She is reaching her adult height, but will take another year or more to fill out. Her body and coloring look shepherd.
the thumbnail, not the avatar, shows my late gsd who had a similar look. very thin torso and long face. if yours is sable, itll get darker with age.
