Hello everyone..i have been looking for a forum were i can get ideas, suggestions, advice on being a new mommy to my 4 month old Cane Corso. His name is King and never knew how much i could love a dog until i got him! Ive had him since he was 4 weeks old. I am having no problems with training him..hes such a good puppy! Recently he was sick w/ diarrea. he was tested for parvo and giardia and was Negative thank God. i dropped him off at a dog sitter couple weekends ago i had to go out of town..came back and thats when i noticed his poop was watery . i took him to the vet and they said he might have ate something he wasnt suppose to (uhmm you think) .. he was negative to all the things i was praying he didnt catch. Anyways, he was prescribed antibiotics, probiotics and medicated food and finally after 2 weeks his poop is now solid and hes drinking alot of water now! one thing he didnt lose while he was sick was his appetite. Anyways.. im just happy hes gotten better, today is his last day of vaccines.. im looking forward for the upcoming years with my Love.. Hi & welcome I have not even heard of this breed, so, with breed specific questions I’m no help at all. I have to say though what a super cute looking pup How are things going in general ? You mentioned that you have had him from 4 weeks old, what’s the story behind that ?
im sorry i meant 8 weeks old! i bought him from a breeder.. ive always wanted a cane corso and finally have one of my own.. . Everything is great... hes 4 months old and he knows SIT, come here and Eat.... I have a few questions on this breed if anyone has a Cane Corso as well please reach out !
I do not know if anyone on Breedia has a Cane Corso and I cannot give you any advice as I have never had a big dog! I was a bit confused when you said you had had King since he was 4 weeks old although now you say he was 8 weeks old. I hope you can get the information you need for your lovely pup,
yes, i meant i had him at 8 weeks old.. is there an issue? i did not mean 4 weeks old, i meant 8 weeks old. sorry about the confusion! he is 4 months old now..
No problem or issue - I was just a bit confused. My little one who was three-years-old yesterday was only 3 weeks old when she came to me - much too young and such a tiny one, so when you said you had had King since he was 4 weeks old it was a bit confusing. Just out of curiosity, what do you feed him on? I am a raw feeder so probably will not be able to advise you. But please keep posting because maybe you will get the help and advice you need.
sorry about that.. yes i got King when he was 8 weeks old.. i feed him blue diamond for large breed puppies

Lots of socialization, keep going with the training, provide adequate exercise but don't overdue it, they are a large breed you don't want to stress the joints.
