    Runny nosed Boston Terrier

We have an 8 year old male who is generally very fit & healthy. Over the last few weeks he has developed a snotty nose that was originally diagnosed by the vet as being an infection. He was put on a course of antibiotics & painkillers which led to a slight improvement so we therefore continued with a second course. Given that the problem persists, the vet says the next step would an MRI scan, but h3 is reluctant to do this. Has anyone else had a Boston with a runny nose type problem and did you find a cure? Thanks

Did the vet not think that it could possibly be an allergic reaction to something?

I hope your boy improves with his second course of AB's. Perhaps it is not possible because he is a short-faced breed, but could your vet pass a camera up his nose, under anaesthetic? This should be cheaper than a MRI, and could rule out something like a lodged grass seed, or a polyp, being the cause.
(You do not say what colour the discharge is, but as the vet has treated for infection, I presume that it will be white to yellow).
