Hello On 10 July I received a Samoyed puppy as a gift His Nåme is Nory and he was born on 14.05.2019 He came with a “health card” forum vet that say he is a “pure breed Samoyed” but I don t think this anymore. He was super fluffy at first but now his hair is pretty short and he wight only 8kg at 4 months. Anyone can help me find if is a crossbreed?
It can take a couple of moults for a Samoyed to develop a full coat, and the weather can play a part too. Were you given any other documents which show that he is pure bred, ie. pedigree, Kennel Club registration card, etc? A vet's card is no guarantee that a dog is pure bred. You can have him DNA tested for breed purity. This only uses a simple cheek swab, and is a fairly cheap and quick process. See, Wisdom Panel on Google. He looks a sweet puppy, and you may be glad that he only has a lighter coat when his big moult does happen!
Thx for your reply. I love my dog and I don t mind if is not a Samoyed. I was just curios and I think I will do a DNA test Thank you for advice. This is a Thank you photo.
Whatever Nori is, whether pure-bred, cross-bred, or who knows what, he is very sweet and looks very happy.
Put in samoyed at 4 months on google and check out the images. You'll see he's not alone in having a shorter coat at that age. My guess would be samoyed or predominantly samoyed. Whatever, he's lovely xx
Update He is 13kg now He is very stubborn and need a lot of attention but I love him and we spend all the free time I have together.
