Reggie on colchicine 6 mg per day terrible diarrhea . any suggestion to stop the diarrhea? per vet early signs of Scar Pei fever. Hocks swollen slight fever
It could be the Colchicine that's causing the diarrhea. If it were my Pei I'd be inclined to take him off it for a few days to see whether there was any improvement. I've found stewed pumpkin particularly Butternut squash is very effective. Just add a tablespoonful to the above food. I've also used Pro-Kaolin in really bad cases of diarrhea, but please consult your vet, as I'm not sure whether it's suitable for a Pei with Shar-Pei fever.
