Our peis are raised with our family and children and we focus on not just quality but health and temperament too. We have traditional style peis as well as the more meaty mouth peis and rare colors as well as bear coat Shar Peis. Hello Samantha, I saw your post before your website address was taken down so I had a quick look. Am I correct in that you have 10 females you breed and 5 males you stud with? That’s an awful lot of dogs to be breeding. I didn’t see anything about you showing these dogs but maybe I missed that bit.
The website is in the user name. I do not know much about Peis apart from the fact that there are different coats, but I was not aware that they come in toy and miniature versions, as well as standard.
I do not know if this is a normal thing, but in order to be placed on their waiting list for a specific colour, coat and size, they require a non-refundable $200 deposit. Check the puppies currently available for prices.
I would imagine that not breeding to the AKC breed standard is the major reason why only Limited Registration is available. I'm rather confused because this AKC website says that brindle and mixed colours are allowed by the AKC. https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/chinese-shar-pei/ Which contradicts the other AKC website which like European KC's say that only solid colours are acceptable. http://images.akc.org/pdf/breeds/standards/ChineseSharPei.pdf This is the breed standard for the FCI which is the same as the UK KC. http://www.fci.be/Nomenclature/Standards/309g02-en.pdf You can only show brush coat Pei but not bear coat or horse coat. There's actually no such thing as a Mini or toy Pei. They're the the result of breeding two small Pei together. A normal size Pei like Georgina is anything over 18 inches tall. 17 inches and under like M'boi was (is) considered as a Mini.

A solid Color dog may have shading, primarily darker, down the back and on the ears. The shading must be variations of the same body color and may include darker hairs throughout the coat. The following colors are disqualifications: Albino; not a solid color, i.e.: brindle; parti-colored;Spotted; patterned in any combination of colors.

If you go to the end of the Illustrated Standard, (CSPCA, under Education at the top right, - you will have to download it to read it), there are three groups of additional coat colours, which appear to have been added in 2002. This is very confusing as the Breed Standard on the main club page does not contain this information. Does this suggest that these colours are now legal, or that they may be used when applying for Limited Registration?
Yes that is it. The range of permitted colours seems to have jumped to 17, - plus a separate category for three Alternate colours? Adding in Markings seems to allow an infinite range of possibilities - but the basic AKC Standard makes no mention of these. I must be missing something.
