    Jackie -

I had the exact same experience. I adopted a Briard when he was 1.5 years old and the rescuer thought he was a bearded collie mix.

He was a wreck (traumatized as a puppy and not properly socialized), but with some time and patience, he became the LOVE of my life. He lived to the age of 16 and my husband swears it was by sheer will power because he didn't want to leave me. THey are incredible dogs and I'm going to Boston next week to pick up a new Briard puppy!

Welcome to the forum Debra, and congratulations on getting your new Briard puppy. I hope you will come back with photos when you can spare the time!

I don't know if you noticed, but this thread dates from 2004, so it is unlikely that you will get a reply. Photobucket have recently started charging for hosting photos, hence all the broken picture links.

Hello and welcome. I think I've only seen them at Dog Shows - beautiful dogs.

I can imagine how excited you must be to get a new puppy and look forward to hearing all about him (or her).
