The wind directions changed yesterday, coming from the east and bringing sand, dust, and unbearable heat. It has changed back again so not so much sand and dust, but the heat is just as bad. And it is not even summer yet... Anyone got a spare igloo or three?
Rather mixed weather here. Quite steady rain overnight and this morning. Now, we have clouds and sun but some of the cloud looks heavy and dark.
It's horrible here. Cold, raining steadily all morning and windy. Not a nice day at all, at all, at all
Not a chance, Juli. Much as I hate the rain, I don't like it when it's too hot either. Today has been lovely. Nice cardigan weather - not too hot, not too cold. Apparently, we are in for a mini-heatwave this weekend, but it worries me so much when out with Rosie when it's hot. We do keep to the shade for most of out walk and she has plenty of water, but I still worry when it gets too hot
I do not remember it being like this before, and I wonder how I coped when I just had one fan. I do not set the a/c on low - but over the last few years I now have small wall a/c - salon, mini kitchen, back room and, as the original ones, in the salon [now a new one] and in my bedroom. It is now 11pm and the a/c in my salon is set on 28° C - it is 26° C in my bedroom and will stay on that all night. The remote control is under my pillow so I can switch it off. This is ridiculous though - beginning of May with the summer yet to come. And yet last week I was wearing warm clothing?
Strange weather this week. The temperature started in single figures on Monday. Wednesday alternated between blustery rain and sun, and while the late sun was out we even had a few flakes of snow towards evening. Today is glorious, and temperatures of 27/28 are forecast. No wonder they say that the Brits. are obsessed with talking about the weather!
Gorgeous here too today. Nice temperature this morning, but me thinks it could well get 'too hot' this afternoon. Coupled with the Bank Holiday weekend crowds, me thinks there could be some frayed tempers in town this afternoon
The sunshine has deserted us. It's been cold and very windy this morning. A northerly wind too so blooming freezing. Winter coat out again. Seems strange after the last few days of glorious weather
I do not remember such long, hot summers here, and I, among many others, am desperately praying for rain. For me, cold is far easier to cope with than this heat - I have itchy heat rash from the top of my scalp to my feed and I am tearing my skin to pieces from the irritation. Yes, I know there is heavy rains, floods, dangerous, elsewhere, and now Arctic blasts threatening snow in -3.4C° low temperatures in the UK - and the tragedy of the Indonesian Tsumami, but how can they make me feel cooler? I just hope you all keep safe and as warm as possible if it does get as bad as is said. Me? Just switch on another air-conditioner and forget about electricity bills.
