No, not at all. Have been a fan of them for years. My first dog was a husky cross and have a samoyed now. There can be negative experiences with any breed. Not a reason to shun in toto. As noted, it wasn't an issue with escaping.
Yes you can train the escape out of a husky. It's not impossible. They will listen to you. Since your obviously getting a husky that can escape got get 6 pallets put them together and put him in it not sharp and smooth. To make a temporary kennel tell they don't try to escape. Also working very closely with them is key do not let them get bored they will destroy everything in their path of bored. Treat them like you would a child until they show their willingness to listen you are to be pack leader if you don't want it to happen down let it happen. Most huskies dont care if you yell at them so your in the battle of the wills. That being said you have had a husky mix and now a Samoyed so you know how the Spitz Family works. Don't let the husky off leash at all it will take off and run back to where it knows. Until you know for a fact which with an older dog takes time they aren't going anywhere don't risk it. Stay positive they are very intelligent and stubborn but if you get angry other frustrated which you will they will add to it. Make sure to give plenty of exercise and lots of love. Them being pack animals they need to be with you. I would work on trust control everything and work on leash a lot. It also helps if you give your husky a job and lots of mental stimulation will go a long way.
