Well after a washout weekend we have had a couple of dry days, yesterday was dull and cold but sun is out this morning.
Nothing has changed here - yet. A heatwave when it is not yet half way through May? I am dreading the summer [and the electricity bills].
It has been sunny and warm here in France, saying that today has taken a turn for the worst and is a bit overcast and chilly... Up and down I suppose...any rain is always welcome for the garden although Tootsy hates rain cos it means a day indoors... Her latest picture taken yesterday in the garden.... And some sheep blocking the road the other day whilst taking a drive to our favourite garden centre near Escamps...
We've still got the breeze here, but thankfully it is a southerly so warmer than of late with clear blue skies. Wonderful. My type of weather, not hot, not cold, but 'cardigan' weather which suits me fine
It's been bitterly cold here so far this week ... so cold in fact I made myself a hot water bottle before I went to bed last night. Today it's still very cold but at least the wind has dropped and I've been able to get on with some much needed gardening. Tomorrow Jannie is coming to rotovate both veggie patches and providing it doesn't rain my weekend will be spent planting spuds and onions helped of course by the dogs!
. Lovely photo of Tootsy We've got no sheep where I live, only goats! The couple down the road from me have a herd of 28 that wander onto the top half of my land to graze. Georgina likes to sit and watch them, although maybe she thinks she's guarding them. Gwylim's not quite so sure about them and if they come too close to the fence for his liking, he'll bark!
What a lovely picture of Tootsy! The gardens, (and the rivers), could really do with some rain. It's only about 6 weeks since I was moaning about churned up mud on the footpaths - never satisfied.
It is ghastly here. We had a couple of days when I did not need the a/c on but it is back to a horrible heatwave again.
I think I'd describe it as showery here, though we have had more prolonged rain at night time, and we are back to using the heating. The ground did need it though, and everything is beginning to look lush and colourful.
Yesterday here was beautiful and warm. My daughter and son-in-law were here for a long weekend so it was just as well. However, the little minx seems to have taken the good stuff home with her and we've had the drizzly stuff all day. Ah well, better to have the good weather while the kids are visiting
A lovely 22C here today, so housework was abandoned in favour of a day in the garden. I wanted to take the dogs for a walk this morning along the cart track but Georgina decided she'd rather chill out on the cold kitchen tiles and wouldn't move. They did go out for a long walk this afternoon with my neighbour so I don't feel too guilty about them not having enough exercise. Anyway, Gwylim and I have planted 100 seed potatoes and 50 onions today and tomorrow it'll be the turn of lettuce, radishes, spring onions and carrots and that's one veggie patch done! In the other which is much larger I'm planning to sow beans, peas, tomatoes, peppers, courgettes, cucumbers, parsnips and butternut squash. I ordered some books from the book depository about 2 weeks ago which haven't arrived so at lunchtime I emailed them to say I thought they'd been lost in the post. No wonder! They emailed me back almost immediately asking if I would confirm my address which according to them is JAMAICA!
A series of showers today. Some heavy, some light, and not many spaces between them. It's cold too, and the heating is on again. Almost everything in the garden flowered and finished in the heat last week. Crazy weather.
Heavy showers on and off. I've got to take my husband in his wheelchair to the opticians later on and I'm hoping it will be during one of the 'off' periods!
Sooner you than me Janet as I was supposed to be going to Pelephone to sort out why they are still charging me for my old mobile phone which no longer works. But it is rather hot [which means it is 'orribly 'ot] and I could not face going out. Never satisfied, am I. Either I complain about the cold or I moan because I am schvitzing.
You really want to know? Have a look a these photos taken just now! We woke up to torrential rain this morning as well as thunder and lightening. The rain turned to large hailstones --- what a noise! The storm's now passed thank goodness, leaving the village paths covered in a layer of white and the culverts full of fast flowing water. All my plans to spend the day in the garden have gone out of the window ... ah well!
