Hi all its been awhile since i have been on the web site. We have recently taken in our first dog. He is an 11yr old Shar Pei and I was hoping that someone may be able to offer advice on the best way to care for him. We unfortunately were not aware of all the problems associated with the breed and find that Junior (thats his name) has come with three of the conditions (Eyes, ears and skin condition). I hoping that many of you out there will ba able to offer as much advice as you can. Thank you all in advance Erei
Sorry dont know about shar pei's but congratulations on your new arrival hope he settles in well, and welldone you for taking in a oldie and making his later years happy ones!
It is importaint to keep any skin folds clean and dry, but eyes and ears, what is the problem with them?
I would suggest you go into the dogweb members list and then email her(rather than PM...find her email addy through her website). She is the 'shar pei' lady on here
Best of luck. I hope you can get all his problems sorted. They are beautiful animals. Well done for giving an oldie another chance at a loving home. Looking forward to some pics
I wouldn't bother Dizzy today with questions, she has just lost Casey in tragic circumstances, so I'd leave it a few weeks. Dawn R.
Thank you all for your kind words and helpful advice. I willcertainly contact the leading lady on Shar Pei's, but I shall definately wait for the right time to do so. xx Will post pics of him soon, If i can figure it out
OMG....thats aweful!!!!! I know she won't be reading this but sending her hugs anyway.RIP Casey....run free.
Well done for taking this Pei into your heart and home! Just out of interest, who did you get him from? Also what food are you feeding him at this time?...
