Not all of my dogs eat every day one of them K9 will go 2-3 days without eating, then he will start eating again, he will eat every day for 5-7 weeks then will stop eating again.
K9 is 12kg solid muscle dog who is also a vegetarian.

I do not believe in deliberately fasting a dog because I do not see the reason for it. If a dog, like @6JRT's Tina's K9, does not want to eat for a day or so, then that is his choice, not something that Tina has forced upon him.

I do give my little skinny pup supplements but that is because she is raw fed, and when I changed my epi girl onto raw feeding I had to learn what supplements she needed to make sure she was not missing out on anything. So Puppy Dog Bliss has various vitamin/mineral and other supplements added to her evening meal, which is raw meat and vegetables.

That was my choice and is seems to suit her. I have no idea about supplements for a dog that is fed on either kibble or tinned dog food

    CaroleC and Malka like this.
I raw feed and don't fast my dogs. When I tried, one of my dogs got a gurgly tummy, would bring up bile and would be miserable. My dogs have excellent appetite and get fed twice per day and have no elimination problems. So I don't see any point in fasting them
