    Shipping an adult male Borzoi

    Hello guys!

I seriously need help. I moved to Washington DC about two weeks ago and it is time to bring my borzoi from Alaska. Now, the problem I am having is that he is too tall for the 700 series crate which is the largest airline approved. I was thinking about buying a crate extension kit which will add about 5 more inches height. I am afraid I will be turned down at the airport because he is too tall and probably won't be able turn around. Please guys, do you have any suggestions? Do you think it will be ok with the extension kit? He's 29 inches at the shoulder approximately. Thanks guys!

The only thing I can suggest would be to contact a specialist animal shipping company. They must have experience in transporting large breeds, and may even do crate supply/hire.

I do not know how big an adult Borzoi is in comparison, but someone I knew from the Epi List shipped her Giant Schnauzer - I believe it was from the US to Germany.

It's probably worth getting in touch with the airline you will use. Might be worth doing so by email so you have their response in writing should there be an issue later down the line

there are dog transpo services that specializes in transporting dogs by plane. You can contact those and have no hassles, because most likely they've encountered a case like yours.

Hey buddy, i recently ship my dog using Citizenshipper. I am posting here because anyone who is looking to to ship their dog might also check my review. I ship my dog fransisco to california. My runner was very friendly. And charges are also pretty descent. So can gave a look to them also.

Anyway here are some tips for you guys when you are about to travel with your pet
    1. Visit a vet
    2. Identification tags - You must never travel without putting identification tags on your pet. You must also install a GPS microchip to make sure you are able to chase it down easily.
    3. Sedate the pet - To make your pet comfortable with the carriage, you can leave the carriage in the house for a few days. You can also place its essentials in the cage, like a bowl of food, water, and bedding to make it like its home already.
