Chico - the tiniest puppy I have ever had - hurt much more than any other puppy I have had! It seemed to go on forever and I was beginning to think that he'd never stop, then one day it suddenly occurred to me that he wasn't doing it any more. He's also stopped hanging from Pepe's ears, for which I am sure Pepe is very grateful.

So I am sure that Tikva will stop too. She's still very young.

Tikva has grown. She is heavier. But she is still small. Ish. And I do not think she is going to be big. Just heavy for her size but has a waist I would be grateful, oh how I would be grateful for such a waist...

When you think that at not yet 3 months old she only has 3 meals a day...

...how come she has gained so much weight, especially one is a human baby meal with human baby food. no sugar.no salt, and the second is raw meat and veggies, the third one being a bone one? No bikkies, no treats ?

Oh, but she has a fly-away ear...

@CaroleC - the mini Monster goes into run run mode when she sees the camera. She is also wrecking the place. Both ears are now rather fly-away and usually end up flapped backwards.

What I really want to know though is how such a shrimp can just take a flying leap onto the couch. :017: The only consolation is that when it is bedtime she happily goes into her crate in my bedroom but she is definitely not a cuddle pup. Yet. Oh, and she still bites.

Yes, it can be very hard to do on your own - it will be more of a surprise for us when you do manage to get a photo.
Puppies are very good at getting on to furniture, but often not as good at getting off it! I once had a rather nice Cavalier bitch puppy that had to be placed in a pet home after putting her shoulder out jumping off a sofa.
Only another 3 months to go before those naughty needles fall out!

@CaroleC "It" has had two puppy shots which apparently only needs now then yearly. Worm pills probably every after the next six months six months.

The next will be her rabies shot and microchip..

@Malka I only worm my adults in April and September, (a different wormer each time, usually Panacur or Drontal), but our vets seem to think it should be every 3 months, and are pushing us to consider lungworm, (which Panacur will treat if you give it as a course). Do you have that in Israel? As the host seems to be a mollusc, perhaps it is too dry over there.
How is the lead training progressing? I don't mean on the road of course, just in the salon and yard. Will Tikva let you use her harness now?

@ CaroleC - apparently we do not not either lung worm or heart worm here - yet - but we do have tape-worm hence the need for Drontal.Plus every six months.

I am still not sure about giving Pereg's supplement to Tikva but apart from her necessary epi supplements I had always followed Joanne's advice. Because Tikva is the first puppy I have hand-reared and then slowly weaned to raw and I worry that she might be missing something.

Especially not a not-yet-three-months-old puppy who has decided she only wants three meals a day. She is gaining weight though.

Harness is fine as she always wears it - it is easier for me to hoik her up with it.

Do Not Mention Lead Training. Unless you want to either be pulled onto your face or your legs so tangled up that you end on your face [or back] without even trying.

Don't worry too much about her only wanting three meals, Malka. All dogs vary and they do tend to know what they need.

My old lad, Sam, was just the same. He came home at six weeks old and after a couple of weeks with us there was no way he would eat four meals. He thrived and lived to the grand old age of 16 so it didn't do him any harm at all

@Chris B - I wonder if it is because of what she eats? I changed things round so she has her cereal first meal not at night. It is [human] baby mixed whole grain ground cereal, mixed with [human] baby powdered 100% vegetables. Mixed fairly thickly now and that keeps her going until her main meal, which is [raw] meat and vegetables. A lot of it.

In the evening she has her main raw bone meal - yesterday was half a [frozen] turkey neck. The problem is that whatever way she has them she wakes in the night wanting a poo. She will pee in her crate [which has a pee pad] but wants out to poo. So I fall out of bed, open her cage, and go back to bed.

RIGHT MY FRIENDS - HAVE YOU BEEN WAITING FOR THESE???????

[The flash went out on the last two.

    Agreed.

And that beautiful colour is just like Chico. Ah, what a wonderful romance that would be!

None of the photographs actually show her shape. Yes she is half Doxie but they do not show her longer legs or shorter back, and she is a richer colour than her 100% standard Doxie dam. I do not think she will ever get that size as although she is growing she is still very small, but oh does she weigh a ton!

She really does not look a Doxie at all, just sort or sort of similar to one. Sort of..

But she is healthy, happy, doing find on her possibly unusual diet.

    Oh and she still bites.

    Little mini booga.

Still free to a good home.....

What a beauty! I have a friend who had a doxie/Chihuahua mix that looked just like her. Still free to good home? I'll take her but you have to pay the shipping. LOL. I know you would never give her up. She's going to be a wonderful companion as soon as she gets past the "terrible two's" and the "treacherous three's".

Bloomin' 'eck! I've had that happen to kittens, but never a puppy!

Poor little thing will need therapy to get over such an ordeal - she'll be having nightmares!

I have raised "old women's" seats on both loos plus bars on the wall side and a rail on the side between loo and shower. Otherwise how on eath do I get myself up? Which means I need a plastic stool usually kept at the side of each loo that I can shift forwards to save my legs from dangling...

...and "it" got on the stool and did a perfect dive into the loo.

And then SCREAMED until she was fished out.
