    Tikvais legally mine!

Michal, the new-ish young Vet has just been round to check Tikva, who now, at just over 7 weeks old has gained weight and is now ~1.35 kilos. And fully weaned. Still so very tiny though but very active and sturdy. And a total lunatic!

So she has had a fairly good check-over, her first worm pill [only a quarter and should have been earlier but better late than never] and was reckoned to be strong enough for her first set of puppy shots. And is considered to be a very healthy tiny puppy.

And she is now registered with my Vet surgery as mine.

    And I love her.

Wonderful news!(And at 1.35kg, she's exactly half the weight of Chico, who is a 2.7kg
    bruiser)

I actually cannot believe her weight as she is still so tiny. But she does not register on my regular digital scales so it was put a bowl on my kitchen scales, tare it to zero and then put Tikva in the bowl and try to see her weight before catching her as she flew out! She is much smaller than Ziva was but weighs more as she is a solid little wubble/

It was very important that she be officially registered as mine. Ziva was before she "disappeared" so legally the person "looking after" her was guilty of theft. But it would not have brought Ziva back, would it, because that woman just did not want her..

This way, if the Russian "girlfriend" who owned Tikva's standard Dachshund dam, can ever turn up and say she wants the puppy back, she cannot as the puppy is now legally mine.

I do not think she will as the last I heard was that she has just vanished and nobody knows what happened to the dam [who was still full of milk] and the other 7 pups.

Tikva screamed her little head off when she had the shot but then climbed up on Michal's lap and licked her face! Apart from that she was fine. And Michal thinks she is adorable. Michal also does not think that Tikva will be very big and nowhere as bit as her Doxie dam.. Just nice and sturdy and solid for her size but still rather small.

And Tikva is happy, so what else could I want?

Tina, Ziva should have been mine to keep as Michal had been here to give her her first worm pill so she was registered at the surgery. But that was a different story. This time the owner of the dam might, highly doubtful but might, decide she wants the puppies.

I have no idea what happened to the other seven, and there is no point in me worrying about them. I do not even know the address as I was driven there by a young woman I know from seeing her at the macolet. And I do not even know if she lives on this Moshav or on the Moshav where Tikva came from.

But, Tikva was well checked over yesterday, was considered to be big enough for her first puppy shot - was wormed - thankfully no reaction to either - and is currently chasing a small piece of frozen chicken back around the kitchen. Her first experience of a "shock horror" frozen bone meal. I will give her another five minutes with it then take it away.

And this is where it gets strange. Michal is a vegan although she does give her own dog meat - I am not sure in what type but probably not raw - and yet she is happy that Tikva is already on the way to being fully raw fed. Ram? He always accepted that Pereg was raw fed, bones and all, but was never 100% happy about it. And would no doubt not be happy about me feeding a tiny shrimp of a puppy on raw food.

Michal watched Tikva race around, said her hind legs which are slightly bowed are from the Doxie side and just normal once she caught her andchecked her hips and gave the OK - and was mighty impressed that Tikva already knows "mind" once my chair is switched on.

She also said that Tikva was more of a "me" dog than Ziva would have been, and had she a choice as to which one she would take home, she would have picked Tikva over Ziva all the time.

Tikva will be well loved with you, as for raw food/bones not many vets recommend feeding dogs on it now days, I did try my lot on raw but they all turned their noses up, they love their meat cooked in sauces, chicken in a thick creamy sauce is their favourite & salmon in buttery sauce for K9.
Hopefully Tikva will slow down abit before she's 1 year old lol xx
