Got such a fright this morning on Heiko's walk, his pee was pure blood, panic set in and I rushed back home blood spots everywhere bless him, luckily vet managed to fit me in ,his prostrate was slightly enlarged but vet said it wasn’t to bad, so been given strong antibiotics so fingers crossed its just a infection. There was no previous signs as he had been urinating normally, eating well and his usual energetic self and wasn’t licking himself, still getting occasional blood spot but nothing like this morning .
Oh Vee, what a shock for you. It seems such a sudden start. I hope the AB's do the trick. As you said to me - they are such a worry. I think I might be suspecting his passing a bladder stone.
Yes an enlarged prostate can cause quite a lot of blood and it can be quite scary. Angel had reoccurring bouts of this in the end I had him castrated as the side effect is shrinking of the prostate.
Thanks all’ not been his year, first it was his eyes and now this. His pee was a lot better this morning, I have to take a urine sample in when tablets are finished (that should be fun) as they gave me this new sterilised contraption its shaped like a boat and bottle has to be screwed to one end he pees in container which then runs into bottle, gone are the days when the trusty ‘soup ladle’ came in handy
You are not having a good run. I'm glad that he's improving. Re. the contraption, at least he's not a female!
