After years of no problems with first Little One and then Pereg when the water delivery arrived every four weeks, things changed as the drivers were changed. Both LO and Pereg always recognised the truck and the overalls the delivery guys wear and knew they were OK. Then everything went pete tong with deliveries at the crack of dawn and one guy swinging an empty container at Pereg on his way out, biffing her on her head, and she went for him. Not exactly biting him but she went for the back of his heels and caught his overalls. To cut a long story short I was fed up with being woken at a time when I did not have to get up, plus I was not prepared to have someone distressing Pereg by swinging a container at her "to get her out of the way", so I started leaving the empty containers outside the night before delivery day - the drivers would see how many empties and leave that number of full . Which I either managed to roll indoors or got someone to do it for me. As of four weeks ago there is a new driver who initially could not find my house so turned up rather late. De Dawg was not sure of him and he was not sure of her so I had to hold her well away from him while he brought the new containers in and when he went out. Yesterday was delivery day again and he had told me it would be 11am - noon which is far better for me, and he knew that according to the number of empty containers I would leave outside, that was how many I wanted. So when he turned up, with another guy, De Dawg remembered that he was a Nice Man who would not swing empty containers at her and biff her on her head, so rushed outside with her welcome bark and welcome tail wags. And she let them both walk in to put the new containers in the rack in the back room, wagged her tail when they were on their way out, and let both of them pet her. I am just so proud of her because she obviously remembered that she was not biffed last time and just let them come in. As for letting them pet her - she usually hides behind me when someone tries to go near her!
Of course I do! This is mineral water for my water machine - like an office cooler? It gives hot water for coffee or tea, or very cold water. I prefer mineral water to tap water even though our water is very pure, and having hot water for coffee or tea "on tap" is far easier for me than trying to boil a kettle, which I have problems lifting.
Give Pereg a great big hug from me and Callie. I remember how proud I was when he let two plumbers in the house. Okay the hackles went up briefly but he calmed down. But you're so happy when they don't try to eat anyone
